REGULAR SUNDAY & WEEKDAY SERVICES

First Sunday of the month

A said communion service in the Quire using traditional language with a short sermon. The service lasts about 45 minutes and is followed by breakfast.

A service for all the generations, with music led by the organ and the music group, hands on activities, prayers and teaching. The service lasts an hour.

A communion service taken from the Book of Common Prayer, with music led by the choir (during term time) or sung by the congregation. Traditional hymns, and readings from the Authorised Version of the Bible. The service lasts just over an hour.

2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays

A said communion service in the Quire using traditional language with a short sermon. The service lasts about 45 minutes. Breakfast is usually available after the service.

A communion service taken from Common Worship, the Church of England’s most recent service book. The choir leads the congregation in singing the prayers and hymns. Activities are offered for children. We have three groups that meet in different spaces in the Minster: up to 5, 6-11 and 12 and over. The service lasts an hour and a quarter and is followed by refreshments. 

Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer, with most of the music sung by the choir (during term time). There is a sermon, and the service lasts an hour.

Refreshments from 18.45, worship at 19.15. Normally on the last Sunday in the month, Sunday at Seven meets in the Parish Hall for music led by the music group, bible teaching and prayer ministry. The service lasts around an hour and a quarter. 

Thursday

The service alternates weekly between the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. The service has a sermon and lasts about 45 minutes. Followed by refreshments.

Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer, with most of the music sung by the choir (during term time). The service lasts about 40 minutes.
