Hope into Action – an update: January 2023
We are delighted to inform you that we are now in the process of buying a house. Our
generous investors have enabled us to have an offer accepted on a three bedroomed semi-
detached house in Beverley. We hope to complete the purchase within the next two months
or so.
In addition, we are in discussions with the local authority to help us identify our first tenants, who are
likely to be the victims of domestic abuse.
We are also now seeking volunteers to help us take the project forward in the following
pastoral areas:
love and support. This will be composed of a House Team, responsible for setting the
house up with furniture and small maintenance and gardening jobs, and a Tenant
support group, who will be friends with a purpose for the tenants, befriending and
advising.
requests.
We also need an Empowerment Worker, which could be a volunteer or a paid role. The
Empowerment Worker will provide professional support, advice and signposting to other
agencies. The aim is to support, lead and empower the tenants to independence. It is
anticipated this will involve the equivalent of one day a week pro rata.
Please contact the Parish Centre if you are interested and would like further information on any of these roles.
Thank you all for your prayers and support for this important project for Beverley.
