Men’s Breakfast
Men’s Breakfast meets every 2nd Saturday of the month in Beverley Minster Parish Centre from 08.00 to 08.30 for catching up, socialising, bacon sandwiches, toast, tea and coffee.
We then sit to reflect on bible passages and have a spirited discussion of contemporary issues.
House Groups
The Minster has a number of House Groups in which people meet informally for prayer, Bible study, discussion and fellowship.
The groups vary in style, providing something to suit and to challenge most people. Most meet weekly; some monthly. There are daytime and evening meetings.
The Bellringers
Records show that the Minster possessed two bells in 1050. Four bells were installed in 1366, three of which having been recast are still used in the Minster.
Practices are on Tuesday evenings and the bells are rung for Sunday services at 10.30 and 17.30 and for special occasions.
Flower Arrangers
The flowers in Beverley Minster are arranged by dedicated members of the congregation led by Kevin Hara who gives flower arrangement demonstrations. Special displays feature at Christmas and Easter.
Contact us for information about flowers at weddings.
Dorcas
Dorcas is the Minster sewing group which meets every Tuesday morning. It is named after a disciple, healed by Peter, who was known for her needlework.
Several members of the group have been on weekend courses on the conservation and restoration of ecclesiastical embroidery. It also undertakes mending.
Minster Walkers
The Minster Walkers are an enthusiastic group who walk every Wednesday throughout the year.
In winter they walk locally within 10 miles of Beverley, but as the year progresses they become more adventurous and go as far as the North Yorkshire Moors.
CAMEO
Come And Meet Each Other
An informal meeting where women of the parish come together to meet and encourage one another.
There are several meetings a year which are announced on the weekly notice sheet.
Mothers’ Union
Meetings are held in the Minster Parish Room at 14.15 on the first and third Tuesday of the month, except for August. A corporate service of Holy Communion is held in the Minster at 10am on the first Thursday of the month.
Welcomers
There are about forty people whose purpose is to ensure that visitors to the Minster are made to feel welcome in a friendly and sensitive way.
Members of the team are normally present from 11.00 – 15.00 on weekdays and 12.00 – 16.00 on Sundays.
