Seen worldwide by many millions this artwork by Luke Jerram consists of a seven metre wide illuminated globe created from detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface. It will hang from the roof of the Minster and slowly rotate. A specially made surround sound composition by BAFTA award winning composer Dan Jones is played alongside the sculpture. In Greek mythology, Gaia is the personification of the Earth.
