Welcome to the children, youth and families page.
As a Minster, we are committed to supporting children, young people and families through everything that life throws at them as they grow up. We do this by running regular groups throughout the week for babies, toddlers, primary school aged children and a youth group for young people at the three secondary schools in our town.
Our prayer is that every child and young person we meet with will learn about God, meet Jesus, and find that they have an important and valued part of the community of the Minster.

Time Out

Family Mornings
For families, especially children 0-7. We use themes like We’re going on a bear hunt.
We take over the Minster with games, crafts, prayer areas, films playing and a story time. Refreshments are provided, but you are welcome to bring food to eat in front of our cinema-sized screen!
DATE

‘Me and my Dad’
Breakfast events are a chance for young children to drag their Dads and Grandads to hang out with other Dads, Grandads and male carers for a morning of fun, activities and of course, coffee and bacon butties! They happen once a month in the Parish Hall between 9.30-11.00am.
DATES

Sunday Club
During our 10.30 Sunday Services, children and adults start the service together before children and young people have the opportunity to go for their own activities. We have three groups that meet in different spaces in the Minster: up to 5, 6-11 and 12 and over. Sunday Club takes place each Sunday with some exceptions, for example the first Sunday of the month when there is a all-age service.

All-Age Service
A dynamic, informal style of worship appropriate and fun for all ages and great for families. It includes lively songs led by our music group, and a thoughtful service style designed to be accessible to all.
It happens at the Minster on first Sunday of the month and in our associated churches: Woodmansey on the fourth Sunday, Tickton on the third Sunday.
The service lasts no longer than an hour.

Choir
The choir is a group of adults, children and young people, which leads the worship in many of our services at the Minster, especially on Sundays and on Thursday evenings. It is open to girls and boys aged 7-16. To find out more contact our Director of Music Robert Poyser. The choristers join in the with Sunday Club groups on the Sunday mornings that they sing in the Minster.

Messy Church
We meet once a month in the Parish Hall for an afternoon of craft, stories and prayers to look at a part of the Bible. We use these creative activities to get to know other families at church and to worship together, before we finish the session with a meal.
We meet once a month between 15.30 – 17.30 in the Minster Parish Hall.
