Occasionally the Minster, or part of it, may need to close or only offer restricted access because of a service, special event or day to day maintenance.
We try to minimise these periods as much as we can, as we know that people travel long distances to visit us. Please check again on the day of your visit.

To make the most of your visit, why not take a tour with one of our trained guides? We offer guided tours at both floor level and in the roof. To avoid disappointment, we ask visitors to book and pay in advance as numbers on tours are restricted.
“We loved our visit to the Minster. We were greeted by a very pleasant and helpful lady, and all the staff were similarly welcoming. The building itself is one of the nicest churches you could visit – the gothic architecture is magnificent and the stone and wood carvings inside show how skilled medieval craftsmen were”.
“What a fabulous experience – the Minster roof tour. The guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable”.
“I have visited a great many gothic churches, abbeys and cathedrals in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. I have never seen one so consistently beautiful, so coherent, and so rich in terms of figurative decorations. This glorious architectural fabric is matched by the warmth and openness of those who welcome you”.
“Every time I visit Beverley Minster I discover a new detail. It really is a rival to York Minster but on a more human scale, with none of the crowds. It’s well worth the journey and you’re made very welcome when you arrive”.
