What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of group conversations that freely explore the important questions of life and faith in an open, friendly environment. Everyone is welcome, no matter their background or beliefs. All are invited.

What happens in a session?

Each session will involve food, a film (about 30 minutes long) and then an opportunity to break into small groups to discuss the topic (or just to listen – no pressure).  Each Alpha episode covers a different topic of faith and each is designed to engage and inspire conversation addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? How can we have faith? and How does God guide us?

How long is an Alpha course?

The course will run for 12 weeks beginning on Wednesday 17 April at 18.45 (for a 19.00 start) in the Parish Hall*.

* The only exception is Tuesday 14 May (instead of Wednesday 15 May), and an all-day away at Everingham Park (YO42 4JA) on Saturday 8 June instead of Wednesday 5 June.

More information will follow soon! Look out for promotional material in the Minster and please consider bringing your friends.
