Dorcas is the Minster sewing group which meets every Tuesday morning. It is named after a disciple, healed by Peter, who was known for her needlework.
Several members of the group have been on weekend courses on the conservation and restoration of ecclesiastical embroidery. It also undertakes mending.
A stall of hand-made items at Christmas raises money for its projects.
One such project was a patchwork millennium altar frontal which involved many members of the congregation with a wide variety of skills.
