Minster Youth and Children’s (MYAC) Supporters – was formed in September 2004 as a result of the success of youth work at Beverley Minster. Since then it has continued to support The Minster in funding a full time, permanent Youth Minister who is tasked with helping young people to understand the Christian faith and grow in discipleship. This role involves working closely with Church, the community and a number of school groups.
The MYAC Supporters group is assisted by a small committee that offers support to the Youth Minister and keeps supporters and the Minster Congregation informed of events and happenings throughout the year.
Information about MYAC events are regularly included in weekly notice sheets and flyers and leaflets are produced for special occasions such as Youth Cafés, Residential Visits, 24/3 prayer etc.
A Youth Sunday is held in September with services reflecting Youth and Worship. The MYAC Supporters AGM is held in Spring which is followed by tea and biscuits prior to our weekly Youth Service.
At the AGM a full annual report is presented outlining all activities undertaken and a full Financial analysis of the year’s events.
Since 2004, our Youth and Children’s mission has been hugely effective and grown significantly. To meet this extra demand, our PCC have agreed to supporting the costs of an Assistant Youth Minister and a Gap Year worker. We also have a number of excellent volunteer workers in the Youth team.
To enable us to continue providing this healthy and growing outreach to young people we need to raise £30,000 each year. If you feel you would like to help and wish to become a MYAC Supporter please contact the Parish Centre.
