Parish Centre
The Parish Centre opened in September 2005 and aims to be a place of welcome dealing with enquiries about all aspects of the Minster’s ministry, and to provide an attractive venue for many activities.
The centre is at 38 Highgate, adjacent to the Vicarage and 100 metres from the main entrance to the Minster.
The Minster Parochial Church Council purchased the property from its former owners, the Minster Old Fund, with the intention of converting it to a pastoral and administrative base for the expanding ministry of the church.
The design, by Jonathan Hobson of local architects Ingleby and Hobson, preserves the character of this historic building whilst adapting the interior to include a reception area, administrative offices, staff studies, kitchen, meeting room, quiet room and archive storage. The acquisition and conversion was funded partly from the generous bequest of Miss Elizabeth Coster from Florida, USA.
